Just take a look around.
Every person taking the initiative to lose weight in 2009 is doing cardio.
Cardio.
Cardio.
And more cardio.
So is this right? Is more actually better?
Well, you need to burn calories, right? So doing more cardio is only going to burn more calories, right?
Well, not so fast my friend.
Although burning calories is important, there is a problem associated with JUST doing cardio.
If your current exercise program only includes cardio and a ton of abdominal exercises (a topic for another day) you are only setting yourself up for failure.
When you only include cardio in your program you WILL lose lean muscle and by losing valuable lean muscle mass your body will only burn LESS STORED FAT!
By not including a structured strength training aspect to your routine you will reach a plateau, its that simple.
The MORE LEAN MUSCLE YOU HAVE, THE MORE EFFICIENT AT BURNING CALORIES YOUR BODY BECOMES.
More lean muscle = less belly fat!
More lean muscle = an efficient fat burning machine!
More lean muscle = a flat tummy!
More lean muscle = a sexy you!
It is VERY possible to sculpt the body you want by following the proper nutrition and a high intensity resistance/strength training program. MINUS the cardio!
